Black Lake is a first-person survival horror game set in an abandoned orphanage surrounded by an endless black ocean. You play as Elena, returning to the place where she grew up after receiving a message from her missing twin sister, Rita. What begins as a desperate search through the ruined orphanage soon becomes a journey into a world of cosmic terror, ritual sacrifice, and something far older sleeping beneath the water. They Were Forsaken Explore flooded dormitories, classrooms, basements, church ruins, and impossible spaces hidden beneath the lake. Follow the trail of a forbidden ritual involving ancient bells and the children who vanished without a trace. But something remains inside the orphanage. Something made from the children who never escaped. Key Gameplay Features: Explore a ruined orphanage surrounded by an endless black ocean. Use your phone, lantern, and candles to navigate darkness and uncover hidden paths. Keep your candles alive—some creatures fear the scent of burning wax. Solve ritual-based puzzles involving bells, old machinery, hidden records, and the Book of Sacrifice. Hide, distract, evade, and survive a terrifying creature formed from the orphanage’s missing children. Use limited weapons and resources carefully when escape is no longer possible. Uncover the story of Elena, Rita, Jason, and the children who vanished after a forbidden ritual. About Us: We’re Polydin Studio, an independent team that began as an outsourcing art studio, contributing to a range of indie and AA titles. Black Lake is our first original IP and the beginning of a longer journey. Our goal is to create atmospheric, narrative-driven horror experiences with strong emotional stories and distinctive worlds. In the long term, we hope to expand Black Lake into an anthology of four chapters, each telling a different story within the same universe.
