The game crashes. The story continues.
Stop code: REALITY_CHECK_FAILED Crashborn is a meta-narrative JRPG that fuses card battles with grid fog exploration . The crash isn't a bug — it's the core mechanic. When the story leads you to a truth the system tried to hide, the game crashes without warning : a pixel-perfect Windows blue screen takes over, your cursor vanishes, the keyboard flickers. The first time it happens, 99% of players think their PC actually died. But after the reboot — the hero remembers everything. The NPCs don't. That's not a glitch. That's the game. Core Gameplay Crash Mechanic : Touch the truth and reality crashes. After the reboot, only you keep your memories — gradually unlocking sealed story beats and choices. Card Combat : Lightweight turn-based cards + a speed-bar turn order. Learn the rules in 5 minutes; everything serves the narrative. Grid Fog Exploration : Click to clear the fog, run into battles, treasure and events, and find the next thread of the story. Dialogue & Choices : Branching dialogue trees, skill checks (2D6 dice), hidden options unlocked by memory, and multiple endings. Crash Aesthetics The whole look is built on "system failure" aesthetics: blue-screen blue, CRT scanlines, RGB glitch separation — unifying interface and narrative into one language of "the machine is failing." Full audio throughout: BGM, battle / UI / ambient SFX, and glitch stingers synced to every crash. Who It's For For indie players who love narrative-driven games, meta-games and fourth-wall-breaking experiences . If you love Undertale, OneShot, Inscryption or DDLC — others build meta-narrative with Save/Load. We build it with the crash. When the blue screen appears: don't panic — it's part of the story. Just restart the game to continue from your latest progress.
