ECHOES is a single player game inspired by the sci-fi and horror media of the 1990s and early 2000s, the Alien movie franchise, and more. Features Truly immersive first-person gameplay. Make your way through the bowels of the earth using a handheld device. It scans your immediate environment with a mounted radar and provides a simple map. Fight back fear and escape whatever has made this place its home as you navigate the pitch-black alone. A short experience intended to be completed in less than an hour. The Gameplay Set within a supposedly empty mine, your character must find out where the disembodied voices they seem to be hearing are coming from. Due to the overwhelming darkness, you can only view your surroundings with the rudimentary navigational equipment provided to you by your employer. Press the ‘Scan’ button to see where you are – but beware, doing so lets whatever lives in the mine know you’re there too. Avoid cavernous holes in the ground with help from your map. The Story Low on cash, you take a job with the world’s largest resource extraction company. They send you to the middle of nowhere, to guard the entrance of a mine that was closed years ago. Easy, right? It was – until you heard the voices. They’re soft, yet persistent. Your instructions were to stick to your posting and scan the area, so you figure it’s not out of bounds to venture farther into the mine shaft. After all, there are lightbulbs strung along the walls to guide your path. But before long the lights go out and you decide – perhaps unwisely, perhaps not, only time will tell – to keep on going. With only your company-issued device to guide you, you go deeper. To survive, you must avoid holes in the cave floor and the things that chase you whenever you scan what’s in your immediate vicinity. Along the way, you learn who came before you, why you never heard of them before, and your mysterious connection to this mine’s past.
